COMFORT- The inside of the helmet is padded with small squishy pads. They fit perfectly around the head and it feels great. The only thing that isn't great, is that if you have long-ish hair, sometimes your hair will get stuck because the pads are stuck on like a sticker.
DURABILITY- This helmet is very durable. I've had this helmet for almost 2 years and it is still in near great condition. So if you need a helmet to not break on you, this is a great one.
FIT- The Fit on this helmet feels great because you can adjust the size of the helmet by lifting up the tabs on either side of the helmet. (I suggest opening the helmet all the way and close it on your head so it fits snug)
FLEXIBILITY- This helmet isn't too flexible. If you push the sides of it in, it would probably break. But you probably wouldn't do that anyways.
PROTECTION- The helmet protects from pucks and doesn't get damaged that easily.
VISUAL LOOKS- If you got to http://www.hockeymonkey.com/ and look at all the Reebok helmets, there are different colors that you can chose from. I like the Looks, because of the colors. You can even change the insert colors BY YOURSELF if you get bored with the color. Just undo all the screws and take the padding out of the shell. Mask off the padding and paint the inserts. It's cheap and easy.
WEIGHT- The fact that it is made with carbon fiber makes it that much lighter. This is opposed to the 6K or 4K helmets that are made with cheap plastic.
Great helmet. I think this helmet is very comfortable due to the gel padding that is very soft and molds to your head. The EPP foam offers great protection fromm big hits. The inserts look great. There are two clips to expand the helmet but they can sometimes get stuck when trying to open. The dial in the back does not work very well and breaks realy easily. It is a very light helmet. Overall I would recommend this helmet.
bought this helmet 2 yrs ago to the day. and i just replaced it with a bauer as it fell apart.
overall this helmet is a disappointment.
$150 for helmet + cage, played 2 yrs, twice per week, mens non-checking league,
so after about 200 wears i threw it in the garbage.
first off the helmet is the right size, i shave my head, so no hair is in the way of comfort ever(haha!)
alot of the grey padding which was glued to the black padding came off or wore off,
helmet literally was falling apart,
this helmet is very stiff, had trouble sometimes putting it on my head after it dried as it was very stiff and hard, cant even chew gum sometimes,.
protection is good
overall the fact that i threw it out in 2 yrs, and ppl wear their other cheaper helmets for 10 yrs, i was disappointed, i might want to buy new stick, pads, jerseys, whatever but ppl usually have their helmets for a long time
for this high end helmet, they should offer better quality, so things just dont"peel off" like and orange peel
very not happy with it, but as protection wise its good,
and it is light.
just poor poor quality, use less cheap glue, or integrate in into the padding some how or stich it , or what ever, if it took me playing recreational to kill it 2 yrs, guys and gals that play full time will go through it sooner for sure!
nothing against rbk but this is just poor quality for the money and expectation
This was my first "better quality" helmet. Normally I won't spend more than $100 for a helmet but my other ones just wore out much too quickly so I decided to spend a little bit more this time. Overall great helmet, light, good looking, and very comfortable. The only problem I've had with it is the sweat factor. It feels like this helmet takes all the sweat from my head and just dumps it down my face. I almost think it'd be worth the extra $20 for that new Easton s19 z-shock helmet.
I went to my local Perani's looking for a helmet that was comfortable and would stay put while i played. The RBk 8k was the answer, this helmet is very comfortable and doesn't get too hot when you play. It isn't my favorite in terms of looks but it definitely is worth the bigger price tag.
Just picking up this helmet I can already tell how light it is, the microdial feature on the helmet is a good idea but doesnt make too much of a difference cause it is a little bit wide for me, so if your like me and have a narrow head then i suggest that you either get an Easton helmet or a Bauer helmet. Then I later decided I should take the 6k over it cause it just feels more comfortable and it just has as much protection too. So if your shoosing between two helmets I would suggest you get the 6k.
this is the best helmet on the market. everything is perfect. it is easy to adjust to the proper size of your head. this helmet is the best looking helmet on the market aswell. great overall helmet. 10/10 !
i really think reebok did a good job with this helmet. the looks are amazing! and i love the two tones so you really can customize it to your exact team colors. this helmet is very comfortable by far the best ive had. its very easy to adjust with the fit clips. also its a very light helmet. one thing i dislike is that it breaks down too easy ive had two in two years both the foams inside cracked the screws wouldnt stay in the helmet because it rusted so bad. also the outer shell cracked on my first one. but overall BUY THIS HELMET its amazing. trust me
The best helmet I have ever used. Its so easy to adjust because you don`t need no tools. Great protection and really comfortable to use. Little too heavy.
This helmet is my next purchase. Had a team issued one for awhile, and i loved it. The foam is really comfy. Protection is second to none. Price is a little high, but its worth it. Its also light and allows fast free movement. Fit is nice, and adjusts nice.
This helmet is absolutely great. It fits me almost perfectly, my head is a little on the wide side though. I love the feel of the foam on the inside, but it is very slippery when wet. Overall this helmet is amazing, but a little expensive.
