Nike Bauer 5500 Helmet Review Hot

So ive had this helmet for about a year now and wow... this is a really great helmet for the price. Looks are good and simple and the tool free adjustment is nice for quick tweeks on the bench. Nice protection with epp foam and it sits good on your head, very comfortable with the gel strips as well. Overall great helemt, a must buy

This is the best helmet that I have owned. The comfort is amazing- no pressure points at all. I've taken a number of blows to the head that the helmet has well absorbed. Highly recommended.

comfort & fit
The helmet sits well on my head and with a short hair cut there is no issue sizing it to sit both tight and comfortable. It is relatively lightweight and because it doesn't flex much it doesn't cause occasional pressure points. I do get some issues with sweat coming dowm out of the helmet late in a game but it's never been a big issue for me.
Durability
The initial quality has impressed me and you see a good number of these helmets out there speaking to their durability and desireability.
Flexibility
This is a discontinued model for 2010-2011 I believe. There is still a good stock of them being cleared and there are lot's of used ones. You'll have not problem finding them for your size.
Protection
The fact that this helmet sits so close and so well on my head along with solid nature of the helmet structure give good protection. I've taken one good spill sliding in along the boards and I never noticed any significant impact through the helmet. I'd rank it high.

I'll push this down from the highest only because we are starting to see other helmets out there that are so much lighter (such as the Easton Z-Shock)
This was a great pick up for me as a second helmet given the discounts to clear the leftover stock.

this helmet is my favorite helmet that i have owned. comfort is unbelievable

This helmet has been out there for a long time well when the bauer 5000 came out like 13years ago was the evolution of helmets this helmet is light, and can take a beating but the side clips does take more time to adjust than other helmets, but this helmet still is a very good looking helmet overall, but ofcourse the gell padding is comfortable but theres some pressure points here and there but i definately think they should put it in more spots like my old 6k did.

this helment is one of the most comfortable and protective helments on the market.t is also very light and looks great on any player and it does not loose protection for these other features. the only problem is it is very ahrd to adjust with the rails. i would recomend this helment or the 5100 and the 4500

i love this helmet. its not too expensive and it offers really good protection. the looks are better then the 9500 too or the 9900. best helmet out their in its price range. and with the fm480 tooo freshhhh!
