The point is that your pro shop will be able to help you with that if they cannot sharpen and balance your skate, time to change the shop.

Be cautious about equating the ability of a skate to stand (or spin) with the quality of the sharpening. There are a host of things that have to align for this to work: the surface has to be level, the blade has to be mounted straight, the holder has to be straight, the holder has to be centered on the weight of the boot (which, by the way, depending on whether you pronate or supponate, may not be the right position), etc. Balancing (or not) a skate is not a reliable way to judge a sharpening.
