CCM

I would absolutly die for CCM. Thefirst time I played hockey, I fell in love this equipment. Now don't get me wrong, I have tried other brands like Nike/Bauer, RBK, Easton, and Koho and this brand really cauht my attention. From it's new U+CL series t osome of the older ones like in 02-03, I coulden't get enough of their stuff. In my mind, CCM is and always will be the best in their class.

CCM

This is an excellent company, i love how they make some of their top of the line equipment as affordable as possible and still have that great top of the line performance they expect like a brand like this, vector line in protective equipment i think is focusing more on mobility like their top of the line elbow pads the v10 which is a 3piece design which not many companies are doing right now, their sticks are also very good too but i think their running out of some ideas here, still the octogun series was a good idea I think and still very affordable as well, the skates are pretty innovative too especially the u+ foam technology that supposed to mold around every noot and cranny on your foot. The helmets though are pretty amazing for the pricepoint, amazing ventilation, and very comfortable too.

CCM is right for me

It seems people don't take CCM seriously, but I can understand its all about preference. I have a set of V06 shin shoulder and elbow pads, I would like to try their V10 helmet, I also have a V08 shaft but isn't usable anymore. I used to have the V06 pants but they were too bulky for my own tastes. I just got a pair of V04 skates ('08 model) for $70 good value.
I only play men's league hockey so I tend to go for the more reasonably priced gear.

Sizing (5): I'm kind of a built mid weight like around 185-190, 6'0" CCM is perfect for people like me. I have broad shoulders so when I tried on their shoulder pads they felt perfect, plus very light. I have big calfs and I was worried about having to put on shin gaurds that would cut my circulation, the guys at Peranis helped me solve that problem with their V06's. Elbow pads, they work fine and not too tight either.

Comfort(4): Not the best shoulder pad to wear bare skin, but wearing a thin shirt helps though. No irratation on the legs and arms as far as I'm concerned, also as light as Bauer and better protection.

Weight(5): Very light for me at least.

Durability(5): CCM's products last the test of time. I still find people wearing old school tacks. I still have my old CCM Supra pants from when I played midget and Pee Wee (Texas needs a good equipment bank for hockey).

Protection(4): I say CCM does a good job at making affordable and products without sacrificing performance. I have taken many shots the the shins and torso nothing more than torn up socks, and black marks, and only brusing in the upper abdomen area at the least, nothing can protect you from eveything.

$Value$(4): Not better or worse than the competition. Preference is going to be the ultimate factor.

Overall(4) CCM is a very formidable company that makes really nice equipment for the right kind of people. But they can do better in some areas like pants helmets and sticks

CCM Review

I like CCM as a company, their products are good. I love their jersey's their sticks are great as well. My favorite thing that CCM makes is their hockey pants I love them. Their skates always hurt me thats why I switched to Bauer. And never had a problem their. They are not my favorite company but are right up there as one of the leading manufacturer in hockey. Will most likely buy more stuff from them in the future.

CCM

CCM is a really good company I think. They're doing a good job! The sticks are light and good, the skates are good (not as my favorite Bauer, but good), the pants are really awsome, shoulder pads, helmets and so on are all good quality and have a good design.
Nice company I think.

not exciting but good value for the money

I have a CCM 04 helmet, two pairs of CCM pants, one pair of Tack 492 skates and finally some old CCM wooden stick that just won't die (I call it "the heavy one"). These are mostly lower end pieces of gear (entry to mid level).
I'm 5'10'' and average build.

Sizing - 5 - I agree with ggmorris71 that CCM is a mid-size (not too small, not too large, just right).

Comfort - 4 - Comfort is middle of the road for the skates and helmet. The pants are better than middle of the road.

Weight - 4 - weight in their lower end equipment is good, surprisingly not far off lighter but less protective equipment from Bauer.

Durability - 5 - their stuff lasts whether it's mine or it's looking at what other players pull out of their hockey bags.

Protection - 4 - they are not top of the line compared to some other brands in the price range (example: comparing to an Itech shoulder pad) but overall I think they have good protection for price.

Value - 4 - This is a gut feeling for the value rating. They have great value in the price range with good guality material and manufacturing but less innovation and features. It's like buying a Toyota Corolla to commute each day (great value but not high tech) versus paying more to drive a compact AWD Subaru (more expensive because of the features but necessarily better put together).

Overall I'd say a solid 4.

I don't really count in appearance or marketing but this is a weaker point of the brand. Nike and RBK do better, Warrior is the best in a niche market and CCM kinda sucks wind with their efforts but at the beginning of what I look for I never really worry about looks or market hype... I want peformance, durability, protection and price balanced out and CCM does it.

CCM - what happened

Seems when the major brands merged some didn't get the attention they deserved like CCM.

Sizing: For about medium frames, not narrow like Nike, not wide like RBK, nice mix

Confort: Good no great, find wearing they pads on bare skin can be irritating (bare skin is always a good test).

Weight: Suprised the most the gear seems pretty light.

Durability: Always had good luck - they made the best pants forever. Broke heal in one of their skates - but took 8 years.

Protection: Again about the middle of the road. Not heavey like Warrior or RBK but not light like Nike.

I always like CCM, their skates fit my feet great. But they are not the cutting edge they used to be. Perhaps with the most exciting player in the game they might change that.
