Graf Supra 705 skates almost no protection to your foot

Good time of a day or night to all looking for good hockey eq.
I am sitting here and writing with a second time for this season broken toe because of the puck direct hit into my right foot. In fact I was searching for the new pair of better protective skates and ended up writing this rewiew, so you can read about my trouble and make your wise decision about your next pair of skates.
7 month ago I was by the blue line trying to catch a flying puck with the outer side of my right foot. As the result 4th toe was broken at its base. 1 month out of ice. A day before yesterday, I was trying to stop the puck with the front of the toebox. the phalanx of the big toe broke. Another cast. And here I am writing instead of playing. I am lucky owner of Graf 705.
Look, these Graf 705 are very comfortable and soft, they give you perfect feel when skating. There is almost no breaking in time for these skates. I like that tilted forward, sort of aggressive position on Cobra blades. Talking about blades I must say that in fact Graf uses some kind of "areospace" steel. I bought this pair in Jul 2008 and had to sharpen them only 3 times since then and I am playing 3 times a week. Not bad. I like their "traditional" black look. But boy! If you are playing more or less competitive as I do, it is dangerous. There is no protection in 705 boot between toebox and 1/3 of the proximal midfoot. It is literally no protection there, almost bare foot. I feel so sorry that I realized this only now. I almost cry when I look at my right foot and think I miss ice tonight.
I think I will get another type of skates paying more attention to how much it protects my foot. And this 705 pair I'll put in storage for just a occasional skating when I get a very old man who can't play hockey. Sasha

Graf 705

The first time I put these skates on they felt like the most comfortable boot I had ever tried on. The boot fit my foot perfectly. I have a high arch, wide instep and a narrow heel. I have had the skates for the past three years now and they have held up great. I do not have any complaints with the boot inside or out. That being said, the Cobra blade holder could be the worst thing I have ever skated on. First, it was very difficult to adjust to after skating on a Tuuk for the last twenty years. Second, the runner came loose and would rattle. I had to put friction tape inside the holder to keep the steel in place. Needless to say, it was annoying. I ended out buying a pair of Tuuk Lightspeed holders and steel and had those fitted to the boots. I am completely happy with the skates. I would buy the skates again but purchase the tuuks along with it. No more Cobra.

Graf 705, Score

I abolutely love these skates, although they are a little bit smaller than the normal sized skates i wear, they're absolutely amazing, the inside liner is soft, supple, and the padding feels like an airbag, i love it. My only Gripe about the skates is the forward leaning position that makes it feel like im skating down hill.

I love the wide fitting position and comfort, the main problem is i have high arches so these skates still havent been kicked in completely. BUT, on my first hockey game half an hour after having them on i finally felt completely comfortable with them, i still havent gotten used to the forward leaning skating position but these skates are amazing, sure beat the heck out of spending over half the amount of a thousand dollars for skates that are too stiff anyway right?

So... Boot Structure, is amazing, soft, yet stiff enough, that i blocked a shot and i didnt even feel it.

Comfort- Although i havent kicked them in completely they felt amazing, sizing is about the only thing im having second thougts about but they were a gift.

Durability- Theyre great, all the other guys who wear Grafs at the rink i play at still have theirs years after.

Performance- They're really good, they feel like pro stock skates, soft comfortable, a little normal in weight but heavier than the new composite skates though. Still Great!

The Runner is the NT-3000 which throws me off because im used to standard tuuk and ccm holders that let me stand straight, were as these runners make it feel like im about to fall down from skating down hill.

Visual, its Graf, you know youre Ballin when you got the G at near the toe cap. Enough said.

Weight, i'll give it a four because theyre about three or four ounces heavier than my old ccm skates but the weight doesn't matter when they blow my old skates out of the water right?
