tactics socks review

Comfortable sock. Bottom part is thin where top part is compressive. So if you like to wear thick sock this one is not for you.

well done as socks with the bonus of added protection

The product is sized to different skate or shoe sizes. I have a pair that is one-two sizes larger than my skate size and the sock is a very close and comfortable fit. I think the socks match closer to shoe size than skate size so keep it in mind that buying and perhaps try them on first so as to avoid buying a pair too large.

I am impressed by the fact that they made the sock thin below the ankle joint and thicker above. It will help the foot fit snug in the skate and yet offer cushioning higher up the ankle in higher friction areas near the top eyelets and the tendon guard.
The socks are knee high socks and are somewhat lighter than a good pair of soccer socks. For the advertised technology and the size and bulk of the socks, they are quite light.

The socks are very strong, with good use of nylon and cool max and yet are not too tightly knit. Having worked four years for a sock manufacturer, and importer/exporter/distributer I recognize that these socks have a high content of good quality materials. There is a high percentage of nylon and cool max as well as the Kevlar and other materials.

The quality and high percentage of quality materials means that, even though the socks are not tightly knit, they will last. The fact that the socks are not tightly knit means that they are airy, breezy and allow moisture and air to pass. They are the kind of sock that dries quickly however since they are mostly synthetic material they can stink and stain easily so wash and hang them on a regular basis and avoid the dryer whenever possible.

They work as socks and they have extra protective materials. I've never noticed that I've encountered an errant blade that was stopped by the sock materials so I can't speak to their protectiveness first hand. However, they do have great materials in them, they cover up to just below the knee and I would suspect that they do the job they claim to do. Just as athletic socks I would rate them a five and knowing they have enhanced cut resistance is a bonus.

Visual looks... well... they look like socks and I have the black and yellow ones and to be honest... I like my socks to be a single solid colour and it's hard to give them a five. They will be covered by your skates, shins and hockey socks so who really cares how they look as long as they fit (which they do) and as long as they decrease the chance of a skate cut (which they claim to do).

What I really want to see is this technology incorporated into actual hockey socks so the protection can be increased and rise up above the knee to where the socks are held by garters or velcro tabs.

Well done tactics, well done indeed. Thanks to my teammate who passed these along.

Tatcics sock

Great sock ! Feel better knowing my son is wearing them, I would recommend buying more than one pair for those tournament days or hockey school days where you dress 3 times a day. I would say stick with the yellow and black as our white pair is looking old quickly.

Great socks !

I tried these socks for S&Gs because a buddy bought some and raved about them. I am too. The socks are super comfortable and work very well. I have had other skate socks and they are not as good. Worth the money. I'm buying several other pairs soon.
